RESOLUTION 7862 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING BADGER STATE COATING SPECIALISTS TO REMOVE ABANDONED <br /> TELECOM EQUIPMENT FROM THE ELEVATED WATER TOWER <br /> WHEREAS, the 500,000 gallon elevated water tower nearly twenty years old and in <br /> need of interior/exterior coating replacement and structural modifications and repairs to <br /> comply with current OSHA requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, reconditioning of the water tower is planned to occur in 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, telecommunication equipment installed on the water tower will need to <br /> be removed by the individual telecommunication companies prior to reconditioning work at <br /> the expense of the telecom companies; and <br /> WHEREAS, there exists telecommunication equipment on the water tower that has <br /> been abandoned by telecommunication companies no longer in business; and <br /> WHEREAS, Badger State Coating Specialists LLC has assisted the City with <br /> identifying the abandoned telecom equipment needing removal; and <br /> WHEREAS, Badger State Coating Specialists LLC provided a quote proposal for <br /> $9,500 to remove and dispose of abandoned antennas, brackets, coax cables, ground wires <br /> and busses, stud welds, and other associated items from the water tower. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The quote proposal submitted by Badger State Coating Specialists, LLC to remove and <br /> dispose of abandoned telecom equipment from the water tower is hereby accepted by <br /> the City. Compensation will be on a lump sum basis of$9,500 for said services. <br /> 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf <br /> of the City, to enter into agreement with Badger State Coating Specialists LLC for said <br /> services at said price. <br /> 3. A 10% contingency of $950 is approved in the event that other abandoned equipment is <br /> identified during removal operations.
