RESOLUTION 7853 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> Authorizing the Purchase of 820 Neptune R900 Radio Read Devices <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council approved resolution 7203 on January 14, 2008 and <br /> resolution 7313 on August 11, 2008 authorizing the purchase of Neptune R900 radio <br /> read devices; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has discussed at a work session the purchase of <br /> additional Neptune radio read devices to replace the Sensus radio read devices; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City will see a financial benefit of approximately$40,000 over 20 <br /> years due to the reduced cost of replacing batteries and the staff time to replace those <br /> batteries and the cost of software interface charges; and <br /> WHEREAS, Northern Water Works Supply has provided a quote that is slightly <br /> lower than what the City previously paid; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Enterprise Fund budget would need to be adjusted for the <br /> purchase. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. Staff is authorized to purchase 820 Neptune R900 Radio Read devices <br /> from Northern Water Works Supply in the amount of$77,121, which <br /> includes tax. ($88 per unit plus tax) <br /> 2.
