Definition: <br />Land used and maintained for resource protection, amenity, or buffer, which supports <br />unorganized public recreational activities and which may contain trails, picnic areas, public <br />fishing/boating docks, etc. <br />Samples: <br />Passive Open Space uses would typically include any of the following that meet the previously <br />defined criteria: <br />• Exempt Cultural & Nature Exhibits <br />ii.) Natural <br />Definition: <br />Predominantly undeveloped or unaltered land preserved in its natural state for environmental or <br />aesthetic purposes. <br />Samples: <br />Natural Open Space uses would typically include any of the following that meet the previously <br />defined criteria: <br />Wetlands <br />• Timber or Forest Lands <br />® Nature Preserves <br />J. Transportation/ Utility <br />i.) Vehicular/Pedestrian Right -of -Way <br />Definition: <br />An area or strip of land either public or private, on which an irrevocable right -of passage has <br />been recorded for the use of vehicles or pedestrians or both. <br />Samples: <br />Transportation Right -of -Way uses would typically include any of the following that meet the <br />previously defined criteria: <br />• Skyways <br />• Street Right-of-Way <br />• Sidewalks/Paths/Trails <br />ii.) Railway <br />Definition: <br />An area or strip of land occupied or intended to be occupied by a railroad or other similar use. <br />Samples: <br />Railway uses would typically include any of the following that meet the previously defined <br />criteria: <br />® Railroad Real Property Used in Operation <br />• Railroad Real Property Not Used in Operation <br />iii.) Airport <br />Definition: <br />Land Used for the operation of aircraft and associated accessory uses; provided accessory uses <br />are incidental to the airport activity. <br />Samples: <br />Airport land uses would typically include any of the following that meet the previously defined <br />criteria: <br />e Landing strips/runways <br />• Airplane hangers <br />
