We will have to meet to review <br />these items, but this Ietter wiil, at Ieast, provide a point of deparhtre for our discussions. <br />You shouid consider this scope of work as a beginning. It is based on what we understood from the <br />original Request for Proposals, but it can certainly 6e modified if there are eiements that are needed <br />to better meet the ci�y's goals for the project. The scope of work that follows huilds from the <br />Appraach that we outiined. in. our proposal. . <br />Our first step wauld be to ident�fy twhat ex�sis.. . Our focus far this task would be to gather available <br />inforn�ation and learn all we can about the site.and its influences. The sub-Easks would include: <br />"tc. .. <br />1.1 Review existing plans far the project area and areas adjacent to the groject area. <br />1,2 Review plans for current or anticipated projects, <br />1.3 Investiaate and record existing conditions and influences within and surrounding the <br />project area, including land use; natural features and landmarks; site and bailding <br />conditions; viewsheds; Iand "availabEe" far camponents of the design theme; and other <br />factors effecting the project area. <br />1.4 Perform a visual evaIuation of the project area, noting highlights, pasitive and negative <br />elements, and other factars that enhance or constrain the implementatio❑ or a design theme. <br />1.5 Interview city staff and others identifted by the city to determine qaantitative, statistical, <br />regulatory or historicaI information related to the project area or the implementation oi a <br />design theme, <br />1. b Participate in a tour of the project area and surcounding communzty (the tour wouId be Eecf <br />by city staff and/or representatives of the task force or focus group). <br />Next, FiKGi needs to understand whai is desired. We are proposin� to utilize a workshop process <br />with a defined focus group to facilitate community input.
