The City <br />Council has requested a written report from the Planning Commission. The foilowing is a <br />sununary of the activities af the Planning Co�ission in 1998. <br />A99� 1-�ciivat��s <br />Plannin Cases: <br />The Planning Coinmission considered and acted on the following planning cases in 1998: <br />Comp I'lan Aznendment: 1 <br />Rezoning: � <br />Code Appeal: 1 <br />Conditional Use Permit: IO <br />Variance: 8 <br />Development Review: 8 <br />;� <br />Minor Subdivision: 3 <br />Major Subdivision: 1 <br />PUD Amendn�ent: 1 <br />Easement Vacation: 1 <br />Included in these cases were reviews of major projects including the A.z�thony <br />Properties/O'Neil PUD, TOLD/Walgreens project, and the Silverview Estates PUD. <br />Comprehensive Plan: <br />The Pla.nning Commission put forth much time and energy ioward the complete review <br />and update of the Mounds View Comprehensive Plan, last officially-updated in 1979. Tn <br />conjunc�ion with this redrafting, the Planning Co�unission staged three community <br />foxums held in February, March and April, designed to help Mounds View residents <br />understand what the Comprehensive Plan is, and most importantly, to gather input from <br />the resider�ts as to their views regarding the future of Mounds View. Natices of invitatzon <br />were mailed to each property owner and information was pasted on the website for <br />general reference. A summary of the resuIts of the �orurns was completed and sent io alI <br />ihe participants at the forums. <br />Subsequent to the corrununity forums the Planning Com�nission thoroughly discussed <br />and completed review of the initial drafts of ihe community bacicgro�and, land use, <br />
