j �.�_ <br />� <br />� <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />1995 WORK PLAN <br />Mission Sta temen f.� <br />The Economic Developmenfi Commission shall serve as an advisory body to the Economic <br />Development Authority to promote a positive economic climate, which retains and expands <br />existing businesses, attracts desirable new businesses, and revitalizes the community. <br />Action Steps.• <br />� Begin updating Mounds View 19$6 Economic Development Plan. <br />-� Review and make recommendations to fihe EDA on programs to enhance business <br />development. <br />-� Review and provide comment on fihe recommendations from the Highway 10 <br />Subcommittee regarding proposed redevelopment plan for Highway 10 Corridor. <br />-� Develop a list of targeted industries for future economic development programs. <br />� Research innovative programs of other metro area cities as it relates to development, <br />redevelopment and housing rehabilitation. <br />� Monitor the responses and make recommended solutions to the findings of the North <br />Metro Business Retention and Development Commission Program. <br />� Begin evaluating development design standards for new development and <br />redevelopment in the City. <br />-� Initiate the adoption of a Tax Increment Financing Policy to include fundability <br />guidelines. <br />� Actively participate in retention calls to local businesses. <br />-� Review and make recommendations with regards to funding programs for the <br />rehabilitation of Mounds View's housing stocl<. <br />� Communicate on a regular basis with the public on the Economic Development <br />Commission activities, encouraging written or verbal comment, through the City <br />Newsletter, cable and other interactive avenues. <br />
