RESOLUTION 7914 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO ROSENQUIST CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br /> FOR 2012 REROOFING OF COMMUNITY CENTER AND WATER <br /> TREATMENT PLANT NO. 1 PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the City owns sixteen separate facilities totaling over 127,000 square feet <br /> of roofing areas; all of which were inspected and evaluated in 2010 and summarized in a Roof <br /> Management Program, which recommends reroofing of Community Center and Water <br /> Treatment Plant No. 1 to occur in 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council authorized INSPEC, Inc. to design and prepare bidding <br /> documents for the 2012 Reroofing of Community Center and Water Treatment Plant No. 1 <br /> Project, City Project No. 2011-008, ("Project") on October 10, 2011 (Res. 7837); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council approved bidding documents and authorized <br /> advertisement for bids for the Project on January 23, 2012 (Res. 7889), and was subsequently <br /> advertised in the Sun Focus and Finance & Commerce publications whereby meeting public <br /> bidding requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, 12 sealed bid proposals were received at 1:00 pm on February 23, 2012 <br /> ranging from $267,000 to $482,793 for the Project, with the low bid submitted by Rosenquist <br /> Construction Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota comprised of$222,000 for the Community Center <br /> and $45,000 for Water Treatment Plant No. 1. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The total combined lump sum bid of $267,000 submitted by Rosenquist Construction Inc. <br /> for construction of the Project is hereby accepted by the City. <br /> 2. City staff is directed to prepare a construction contract for the Project for said price. <br /> 3. Upon satisfactory review by the City Attorney, the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby <br /> authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to execute and enter the <br /> construction contract with Rosenquist Construction Inc. <br /> 4. INSPEC, Inc. is authorized to provide construction administration, observation, and <br /> inpection services for the Project on an hourly plus reimbursable basis up to $14,000. <br /> 5.
