RESOLUTION 7923 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE MOUNDS VIEW SAFETY MANUAL <br /> WHEREAS, in 2009, a consultant from the Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration (OSHA) conducted a consultation audit/inspection of the Public Works <br /> facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, during this inspection, OSHA required that the City form a Safety <br /> Committee that meets on a monthly basis; and <br /> WHEREAS, during this inspection OSHA also required that the City adopt a Safety <br /> Program, which outlines the City and employee responsibilities in ensuring workplace safety; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2009, the City immediately formed a Safety Committee; and <br /> WHEREAS, with the assistance of the League of Minnesota Cities, the Safety <br /> Committee drafted a Safety Manual for City Council's review at the May 2, 2011 Work <br /> Session; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Safety Committee received feedback from the City Administrator and <br /> the City Council on the Safety Manual after the May 2, 2011, Work Session, and made <br /> revisions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Safety Committee submitted a final draft to the City Council for final <br /> review at the April 2, 2012, Work Session; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the April 2, 2012, Work Session, it was the consensus of the City <br /> Council to place the Safety Manual for City Council approval at the next City Council Meeting; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, OSHA and the League of Minnesota Cities require that the City's Safety <br /> Manual be approved by Resolution. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council approved <br /> the Mounds View Safety Manual, attached hereto. <br />
