RESOLUTION 7954 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE UPGRADE FOR INSPECTION <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has the responsibilities to efficiently <br /> maintain the infrastructure within the sanitary and storm sewer for the City, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the City has invested a tremendous amount of money for sanitary <br /> and storm sewer infrastructure, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department inspects these lines and structures for <br /> needed repairs or replacement, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the original proprietary software system, WinCan, was purchased <br /> in 2004 and has not had a software update, and: <br /> WHEREAS, by upgrading to the newer version of the software program, the City <br /> will benefit from more versatility including, but not limited to, analyzing the inspection at <br /> a later date and editing the initial report if needed <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works staff solicited two quotes for the televising software <br /> upgrade. The lowest quote is from Flexible Pipe Tool Company for $7,000.00 not <br /> including sales tax or freight. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> Approves the purchase of Wincan Software upgrade to include the following; <br /> o Software upgrade to the WinCan mobile package for $2,000.00. <br /> o WInCan Office Package for $2,800.00 <br /> o WinCan Analysis Module for$2,200.00. <br /> The software will be purchased from Flexible Pipe Tool Company of St. Joseph <br /> MN, in the amount of$7,000.00 not including freight or sales tax, as well as a 5% <br /> contingency not to exceed $350.00 for any unforeseen incidentals that may <br /> occur. $8,500.00 is currently budgeted in the Sanitary Sewer Department fund of <br /> 730-4823-7030. <br />
