RESOLUTION 7953 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF CHEMICAL FEED EQUIPMENT FOR <br /> WATER PRODUCTION <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the responsibility to efficiently operate the water <br /> distribution system, and; <br /> WHEREAS, in each of the water treatment plants are chemicals used to disinfect <br /> the water and add fluoride to the water system, and, chemical pumps are used to inject <br /> these chemicals into the water system; and in their concentrated state these chemicals <br /> are harsh to the components in the pumps, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the chemical pumps must be replaced after several years of use <br /> (approximately 7-10 years); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works staff has received three quotes for replacement <br /> pumps and automatic switch over valves; and <br /> WHEREAS, the apparent low quote is from Vessco Inc., in the amount of <br /> $9,267.30, not including sales tax or service from the vendor. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. Purchase of (2) Chlorinators, (2) Sulphonators, (4) injectors and (4) automatic <br /> switch over systems, each having two (2) vacuum ASOV valves, from Vessco <br /> in the amount of $9,267.30. Which does includes freight but not sales tax nor <br /> service from the vendor. <br /> 2. Payment for purchase of the chemical feed equipment shall be funded by the <br /> Water Department Enterprise fund 700-4823-7030 in an amount of$9,732.30, <br /> which includes a 5% contingency from Vessco of Chanhassen MN. <br /> Adop d this 29th day of May, 2012. <br /> e Flah ,dyer <br /> ATTEST: V CUVVVWS 41 <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
