RESOLUTION NO. 7971 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING THE HIRE OF STEVEN THORP TO THE POSITION OF BUILDING <br /> OFFICIAL IN THE COMMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council,the Building Official <br /> position was advertised; and <br /> WHEREAS, 37 applications were received for the position and 15 were chosen.for <br /> interview; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Steven Thorp's skills and experience were determined to most <br /> closely match the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Building Official job <br /> description; and <br /> WHEREAS, reference checks and a criminal background check have been <br /> completed on Mr. Thorp, and checks are satisfactory; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Thorp will begin employment on or about August 6, 2012 at Step 3 <br /> of the wage scale as adopted herein below. <br /> Step 1 Step 1.5 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 <br /> $26.92/hr $27.76/hr $28.60/hr $30.29/hr $31.97/hr $33.65/hr <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br /> appoints Mr. Steven Thorp to the position of Building Official in the Community <br /> Development Department. <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council approves the salary scale for the <br /> Building Official position as indicated herein, with a starting salary for Mr. Thorp at <br /> $30.29/hour (Step 3), with an increase to Step 4 of the salary range after one year of <br /> employment, and Step 5 after two years of employment subject to City Council <br /> authorization. <br /> Adopted this 23rd day of July, 2012. <br /> ,6Y. <br /> Joe Fla -- y, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: t <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
