RESOLUTION NO. 7972 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 400 REPLACEMENT CHAIRS FOR THE EVENT <br /> CENTER IN THE MOUNDS VIEW COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> WHEREAS,the Mounds View Community Center was built in 2 phases in 1997 and 1998 <br /> and somewhere during that timeframe 400 chairs were purchased for the Event Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, Staff has been made aware of the needed replacement of the current <br /> banquet chairs due to their condition; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purchase is through the Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV), a <br /> members-only program that enables participating governmental units, such as Mounds View, to <br /> purchase goods and services under competitive contract terms established by the State of <br /> Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS, $40,000.00 is currently budgeted in account 252-4730-7030 for replacement <br /> chairs; and <br /> WHEREAS, an additional $20,811.88 is required for this purchase; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Director has stated that funds are available and an amendment <br /> by the City Council to the budget is authorized; and <br /> WHEREAS, the existing banquet chairs, approximately 380 in useable condition,can be <br /> sold through the League of Minnesota Cities website or possibly at an auction; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The purchase of 400 chairs from MTS Seating located in Michigan in the amount <br /> of $60,811.88 (which includes freight and sales tax) is hereby approved. <br /> 2. The 2012 budget is amended to reflect the $20,811.88 increase in the actual <br /> purchase price of the chairs under the Community Center - Event Center fund <br /> 252-4730-7030. <br /> 3.
