RESOLUTION 7979 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING GRADING AND IRRIGATION IMPROVEMENTS AT LAMBERT PARK <br /> WHEREAS, a comprehensive layout for Lambert Park was completed to better <br /> utilize the 2.87-acre parkland space while providing more green space; and <br /> WHEREAS, recent improvements have been completed from the comprehensive <br /> layout, including on-street parking and a new park shelter; and <br /> WHEREAS, addition improvements are planned that include a new baseball field, <br /> playground replacement, and irrigation; and <br /> WHEREAS, grading, irrigation, and turf restoration is currently needed to make the <br /> park useable again; and <br /> WHEREAS, public works staff solicited quotes form qualified contractors to furnish <br /> and install an irrigation system for Lambert Park, including operating equipment, that ranged <br /> from $19,970 to $24,000, with the low quote submitted by True North Landscaping of Ham <br /> Lake, Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS, True North Landscaping provided an additional quote to grade, topsoil, <br /> and sod approximately 1,500 square yards of grounds in and around the new park shelter <br /> for$4,120; and <br /> WHEREAS, monies have been included in the 2012 Budget for the above said work <br /> under the Park Dedication Fund (451-4470-7050). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The quote proposal submitted by True North Landscaping to furnish and install an <br /> irrigation system in Lambert Park is hereby accepted by the City. Compensation will be <br /> on a lump sum basis of$19,970 for said services. <br /> 2. The quote proposal submitted by True North Landscaping to grade, topsoil, and sod <br /> approximately 1,500 square yards in Lambert Park is hereby accepted by the City. <br /> Compensation will be on a unit price basis for an estimated cost of$4,120. <br /> 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the <br /> City, to enter into agreement with True North Landscaping for said services at said price. <br /> 4. A 10% contingency of $2,400 is approved in the event that additional related or <br /> unforeseen work is required to complete the work.
