<br />r <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />f <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2472 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION RESTRICTING OUTDOOR USE OF MUNICIPAL WATER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View recognizes the need for <br />water conservation during peak use periods~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Code authorizes the Council to <br />establish restrictions consistent with the need for conservation~ <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Environmental Quality Task Force has reviewed <br />the conservation needs and has recommended restrictions. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of <br />the City of Mounds View adopts the following restrictions for <br />outdoor use of municipal water: <br /> <br />The outdoor use of municipal water for irrigating lawns, <br />gardens, and for recreational uses is banned between the <br />hours of noon and 4:00 p.m. Additionally, outdoor use of <br />municipal water is restricted to odd numbered days for <br />properties with an odd numbered address and to even <br />numbered days for properties with an even numbered <br />address. These restrictions shall be in effect frOm May <br />22, 1989, until September 10, 1989. <br /> <br />These restrictions will not apply to newly sodded lawns, <br />root feeders or bubblers for trees, drip type irrigation <br />systems, or the filling of small wading pools (less then 8 <br />foot diameter and not more than 1 foot depth). <br /> <br />Permits for use of water during restricted periods may be <br />granted by the Public Works Director subject to conditions <br />imposed by the Director. These permits would be approved <br />only for unique situations that require exception to these <br />restrictions. A permit will not be approved if there are <br />currently approved permits with a cumulative estimated <br />usage in excess of 20,000 gallons per day. There is no <br />fee for this permit. <br /> <br />The Public Works Director may impose additional <br />restrictions or modify these restrictions if conditions of <br />water use versus water pumping and storage capacity <br />dictate the need for changes. These modifications or <br />additions would take effect as soon as publicized on the <br />City Hall sign and on cable television, and approved by <br />the Mayor and/or Clerk-Administrator. <br />
