<br />... ~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. l' <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2499 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY, PROCEDURES AND FEES <br />FOR THE MUNICIPAL MOWING OF WEEDS AND TALL GRASSES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 90.01, Subd. 3, (8) of the Municipal <br />Code declares noxious, tall grasses and other rank growth as <br />a public nuisance affecting health, safety, comfort, or <br />repose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has experienced <br />situations from time-to-time where property owners do not <br />maintain their property and rank growths are allowed to <br />occur; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View does not wish to <br />allow conditions detrimental to the health, safety, and <br />welfare of our residents to exist. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Mounds View establisheS the following Policy, <br />Procedures and Fees for enforcing the City Code and having <br />the offending property mowed by City personnel when the <br />owner refuses to do so. <br /> <br />Policy Statement. It is the policy of the City of <br />Mounds View that all properties shall be maintained <br />so as to prevent the growth of tall grasses and <br />noxious weeds. If a property owner, after reasonable <br />notification, refuses to maintain their property, the <br />City shall enter the property and perform necessary <br />yard maintenance at the rates listed in this <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Procedure. Upon notification of the possible <br />existence of tall grasses and/or noxious weeds, the <br />City Weed Inspector shall inspect the property and <br />advise the Clerk-Administrator's Office of his <br />findings. If it is determined that tall grasses or <br />noxious weeds exist, the Clerk-Administrator shall <br />give notice to the property owner to remove the <br />offending growth within 7 days. If the growth is not <br />removed, the Public Works Department shall mow the <br />property at the earliest possible date and and report <br />all work hours and expenses to the Clerk-Administra- <br />tor's Office. <br /> <br />Fees. Property owners shall be billed for removal of <br />noxious weeds and tall grasses as follows: <br /> <br />1. $100 Administrative Fee <br />
