<br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
<br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY
<br />STATE OF MINNESOTA

<br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING
<br />VOLUNTEERS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE
<br />1991 ''FESTIVAL IN THE PARK" CELEBRATION
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View celebrated the 15th annual "Festival in the Park"
<br />celebration; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the "Festival in the Park" could not.be held without the .assistance of community
<br />volunteers; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Lion's Club provided the City with the funding for the
<br />fireworks display, provided a food booth for the festival and assisted with the set-up and take-down
<br />of festival equipment; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Senior's Club served the refreshments for the parade
<br />participants and provided a free coffee booth; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Delilah Johnson and Alice Frits assisted in the planning and preparation of the
<br />parade; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Jerry Blanchard once again supervised the craft fair site, ensuring that every
<br />participant had a location; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Scout Troop 367 and Explorer Post 761 provided traffic control, medical
<br />emergency services and security under the leadership of Ray Long, George Carlson and Renee
<br />Johnson; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, contributions were received from County Commissioner Duane McCarty and
<br />State Representative Dick Pellow; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the following community organizations participated with providing booths or
<br />activities during the Festival: Mounds View Community Theater, Early-Childhood Development,
<br />Pinewood PT A, Sunnyside PTA, lrondale High School Cheerleaders, Irondale High School Band
<br />Booster Club, Flipside Gymnastics Club, Scouts Troop 400, Mounds View Swim Club, SOC'M,
<br />Steel Drummerettes and Mounds View Lioness Club; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the following merchants contributed to the 1991 Festival ill the Park with
<br />services, merchandise or donations: North Suburban Schwinn, Paster Enterprises, Dynex Industries,
<br />Sysco, Firstar Bank, Mermaid Supper Gub, R.J. Riches Restaurant, Silver View Chiropractic Clinic,
<br />Midway Industrial Supply, Pink Flower Restaurant, Appearance Plus, Strochak Cleaners, Burger
<br />King, McDonalds and Perkins.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the "Festival in the Park" would not be successful without the attendance of the
<br />general public and their participation in the city celebration.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City Council of the City of Mounds View
<br />is grateful and appreciative for the services provided to these groups, organizations and individuals
<br />that offered their services to the "Festival in the Park".
