<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5179 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE ELECTION RECOUNT RESULTS FROM <br />THE NOVEMBER 4, 1997 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR FILLING <br />THE VACANCY OF THE CITY COUNCIL SEAT WITH THE TERM ENDING 1998 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a special election was held on November 4, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the election results for Mayor and Council were canvassed November 5, 1997 <br />declaring Sherry Gunn the winner of the seat by a vote of233 and 225 for Cameron Obert; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a request was made by candidate Cameron Obert in accordance with State Law for a <br />recount for the recount of the council seat; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk-Administrator, acting as the Recount Official, conducted a recount of <br />the election results in accordance with State Law and the Minnesota Secretary of State's election recount <br />procedures on November 6, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the results of the recount are as follows: <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br />Sherry Gunn <br />Cameron Obert <br /> <br />232 <br />224 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council, acting <br />as the Municipal Election Canvassing Board, declares that Sherry Gunn has received the highest number of <br />votes in the election to fill the Council seat vacancy with the term ending 1998. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that ifno election challenge is filed within seven days of the date <br />of this Resolution, the City Clerk-Administrator is authorized to certify the election results to the County <br />Auditor declaring Sherry Gunn to be elected to the Council seat vacancy with the term ending 1998. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />{{4f.
