The survey covered the following nine (9) <br />topics: <br />1. Residential Demographics <br />2. Quality of Life <br />3. Taxes and Spending <br />4. City Services <br />5. City Government and Staff <br />6. Development and Growth <br />7. Solid Waste Management <br />8. Parks and Recreation Issues <br />9. City Communications <br />The survey conducted by Decision Resources involved a telephone survey of <br />402 randomly selected residents of the City of Mounds View. A total of 112 <br />questions were included in the survey. <br />A copies of the survey results have been placed in each of the City Council's "In" <br />baskets at City Hall. <br />In 2000, the Parks and Recreation Commission worked on developing a <br />Comprehensive Park Plan. At that time, the Commission felt that the City should <br />determine what the community wants and needs are with regard to park <br />amenities. On April 2, 2001, Public Works presented a staff report to the City <br />Council asking for their direction regarding the development of a"Comprehensive <br />Park Plan". The staff report cited an option of conducting a formal public survey <br />of the community to determine what their current and future needs and desires <br />are for the City's parks. <br />At the Work Session, the Cifiy Council agreed with the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission to create approximately 10 questions with the rationale behind each <br />question.
