RESOLUTION 8049 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A WAGE AND STEP REASSIGNMENT, HAY POINT <br /> REVISION AND AMENDMENT TO THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING/CODE <br /> ENFORCEMENT INSPECTOR TO INCLUDE DUTIES OF FIRE MARSHAL <br /> WHEREAS, on May 14, 2012, the City Council appointed Jeremiah Anderson to serve <br /> as the City's Fire Marshal and authorized an additional 5% compensation per City policy for <br /> employees serving in an interim capacity taking on higher classification duties; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jeremiah Anderson's performance while serving in the dual capacity of <br /> Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector and Fire Marshal has been rated satisfactory or higher by <br /> the City Administrator, who recommends the duties be assigned on a permanent basis; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Springsted, Inc., conducted a Job Audit for the blended position and <br /> recommends the HAY points for the combined Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector and Fire <br /> Marshal increase to 262; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Administrator recommends that Mr. Anderson be assigned to Step <br /> 4 of the following wage progression scale effective January 1, 2013, with an increase to Step 5 <br /> in one year: <br /> Step 1 Step 1.5 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 <br /> 22.80 23.51 24.23 25.65 27.08 28.50 <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of combining the Fire Marshal responsibilities with the duties of <br /> the Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector position, the Job Description needs to be updated <br /> accordingly. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby <br /> authorize the following: <br /> 1. The blended position of Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector and Fire Marshal shall <br /> be assigned Hay Points of 262. <br /> 2. Jeremiah Anderson shall be appointed to the position of Housing/Code Enforcement <br /> Inspector and Fire Marshal at Step 4 of the wage scale indicated herein effective <br /> January 1, 2013, with an increase to Step 5 on January 1, 2014. <br /> 3. The proposed amendments to the Job Description for the position of Housing/Code <br /> Enforcement Inspector and Fire Marshal are hereby approved. <br /> Adop this 28th day of January, 2013. <br /> e Flahe <br /> ATTEST: <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
