ORDINANCE NO. 878 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.02, SUBDIVISION 1, OF THE MOUNDS VIEW CITY CHARTER, RELATING TO "FILING FOR OFFICE" THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW DOES HEREBY ORDAIN: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Mounds View, pursuant to the recommendation of the City of Mounds View Charter Commission in Resolution 2013-02, does hereby determine that an amendment to Section 4.02, Subd 1, of the Mounds View City Charter relating to "Filing for Office" is warranted. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Mounds View does hereby approve amendments to said Section 4.02, Subd. 1, of the City Charter, with additions underlined and deletions stricken as follows: Section 4.02. Filing for Office. Subdivision 1. Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 205.13, subd. la as amended, noearlier than seventy days nor later than fifty six days before any municipal ele^�ran affidavit of candidacy for a city office must be filed within the time frame specified and in accordance with the Statute with the exception that the fee portion of the Statute shall be superseded by the following: Any any resident of the City qualified under state law for elective office may, by filing an affidavit and by paying a filing fee of $20 or by filing a petition in compliance with MN Statute 205.13, subd. 4, as amended, to the City Administrator, have their name placed on the municipal election ballot. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect ninety days after the date of its publication.
