RESOLUTION NO. 8070 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING SEVERANCE FOR <br /> POLICE SERGEANT ROBERT NELSON <br /> WHEREAS, Sergeant Nelson has retired from the Mounds View Police Department <br /> effective February 27, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused sick leave time is 1,679.25 hours <br /> as of February 27, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS,the balance of accrued and unused vacation is 128.18 as of February <br /> 27, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, the balance of unused compensatory time is 36.88 as of February 27, <br /> 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, Sergeant Nelson's current rate of pay of$38.98 per hour; and <br /> WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of sick time will be 1,679.25 hours x <br /> 65% x $38.98 = $42,547.06; and <br /> WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of vacation time will be 128.18 hours x <br /> $38.98 = $4,996.46; and <br /> WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of compensatory time will be 36.88 <br /> hours x $38.98 = $1,437.58. <br /> WHEREAS, $48,981.10 will be contributed to Sergeant Nelson's Retirement Health <br /> Savings Plan. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br /> approves a one-time payout of sick and vacation time not to exceed $48,981.10 into <br /> Sergeant Nelson's Retirement Health Saving Plan. <br /> Adopted this 11th day of March, 2013. <br /> •e Flaherty, M :r <br /> ATTEST: <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
