<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4736 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTINGENCY FUND TRANSFER TO <br />THE POLICE CRIME PREVENTION ACCOUNT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council has supported the Drug Awareness Resistance <br />Education (DARE) program since 1993; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's current DARE Officer, Tom Baumgart, has <br />proposed a plan to secure, via community and individual donations, a <br />vehicle from Saturn of St. Paul, Mounds View dealer, which will be. a <br />dedicated DARE/Community Oriented Policing Vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the vehicle must be released from the Saturn dealership <br />no later than March 23, 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to release the vehicle to the City, a total of $5,000 <br />must be paid to Saturn as a down payment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, donations to date are $4,000 short of the required $5,000; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Officer Baumgart has cash commitments of $1,000 from <br />businesses and additional contributions of $2,350 which will be paid mid- <br />April; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is anticipated by Officer Baumgart that the total amount <br />for the vehicle will be received from donations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to release the car to the City by March 23, 1995, <br />it is necessary to secure $4,000 in an inter-fund transfer from Contingency <br />Account to the Crime Prevention Account, 100-4202-303; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is recognized that the City will be repaid the $4,000 from <br />funds received from the expected donations. <br />
