<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4747 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT NO.1 00- <br />4700-910 TO MIS ACCOUNT NO. 100-4139-303 FOR FREENET PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at the March, 1995 Council Worksession, staff discussed an exciting <br />opportunity with the Council to gain access to the information superhighway; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this opportunity is a intergovernmental project called FreeNet which would <br />cost effectively enable the community of Mounds View to access electronic <br />information from around the Twin Cities metropolitan area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuing this type of technology in a cost effective manner not only offers <br />a great number of benefits to the community, it is consistent with the goals outlined <br />in the Focus 2000 report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cost for Mounds View to dedicate two telephone lines and for <br />technical support staff assistance, is $2,012 for one year; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, half of this amount is to be paid in the next two weeks and the balance <br />to be paid upon the date the initial electronic information from the City of Mounds <br />View is loaded onto the system and made available to users; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this payment shall entitle the City of Mounds View access to the FreeNet <br />for one year commencing on the date the initial information is available to users. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that $2,012 be transferred from Contingency <br />Account No. 100-4700-910 to MIS Account No. 100-4139-303 for this FreeNet <br />project. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Administrator is authorized to execute the <br />contract between Twin Cities FreeNet and the City of Mounds View for this project. <br /> <br />Presented this 10th day of April, 1995. <br /> <br />(A TTEST) <br /> <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />,J.{~~Lt'-y(() <br />rduno, City Administrator <br />
