<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />RESOLUTICY\ NO. 5471 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COU\iT'{ OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION EXTENDING HEALTH INSURANCE CO;\lTRIBUTlON FOR THE PUBLIC <br />WORKS BARGAINING UNIT 2000 CONTRACT AND NON-UNION CITY EMPLO'{EES <br /> <br />WH EREAS. the Policc Unions negotiated the City l1calth insurance contribution. to it's <br />mcm bers, in thei r most recent contract, \vhereas the City contributes 80(~/;) of thc prcmi um and the <br />employee contributes the remaining 20% and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if the cost of the family health insurance premium increases by more than <br />fiftccn percent (15(~'O) in any given year. the EMPLO,\'ER and thc Bargaining Unit agree to <br />rcnegotiate thc amount of the increase that exceeds Ji fteen percent ( 15~/o) and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS. this contribution differs from the amount currently in the year 2000 contract <br />with the Public Works Bargaining Unit and; <br /> <br />\VI/EREAS. the Police ljnion's contract amount for the City health insurance <br />contribution also di ffers from thc amount clllTently rcccivcd by Kon-Union City Employees and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, thc City Council of the City of Mounds Vicw. has directed staff to open the <br />2000 Public Works Bargaining Unit Contract to extend the City's contribution to family health <br />insurance and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the City Council has also directed staff to extcnded this perccntage amount <br />to the :\ion-Union City employees and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following language will amcnd the year 2000 Public Works Bargaining <br />Unit contract and also amend the CUlTent Personnel Policy regarding the City's health insurance <br />policy. <br />A. The EMPLOYER "ill contributc to each employee per month a maximum <br />amount equal to cighty pcrccnt (80(~,;,) of the lowest cost family health <br />insurancc for cmployee and family health insurancc and basic life insurance. <br />B. Employees may designate any unuscd portion of the eighty pcrcent (80~/;,) <br />amount to provide dental covcragc and/or supplemental life insurance offcred <br />according to established guidelincs through the City's plans. <br />
