<br />RESOLUTION 5564 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIREARMS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Standardization of police officer firearms is one of the goals and objectives set <br />forth in the police department's annual report dated May 14th, 2000; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Council has discussed and weighed the recommendation of <br />standardizing firearms at a previous work session; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Money to fund the purchase of firearms necessary to accomplish <br />standardization within the police department was budgeted for the year 2001; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, All officers on the police department tested numerous makes and models or <br />weapons prior to recommending a standardized department weapon; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A majority vote of officers resulted in the recommendation of the Beretta .40 <br />Caliber model 96F sidearm with night sights and 3-magazines; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sealed bids for purchase were solicited from four supply sources; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Streicher's Police Supply in Plymouth Minnesota submitted the lowest bid for <br />the purchase of twenty said firearms; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View <br />approves the purchase of twenty of said firearms at a cost not to exceed $9,480.00. <br /> <br />Adopted this 14'h ~ May 2001. <br />~y . . <br /> <br />Ri~~ard ~nterre, Mayor <br /> <br />C:\b~ <br />Givonna Reed, Acting City Administrator <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />SEAL <br /> <br />Motion: MARTY l <br /> <br />Second: THOMAS <br /> <br />Sl~nterre: aye I <br />Stlgney: aye J' <br />Quick: aye <br />Marty: aye <br />. ..
