<br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6502 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />ORDERING THE EMERGENCY VEHICLE PREEMPTION (EVP) <br />INSTALLATION PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 26, 2002, the City Council approved resolution No. <br />5824 adopting the County Road 10 Redevelopment Project Plans; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 27,2004 the City Council approved Resolution <br />6357 authorizing the publication of a Request For Proposal (RFP) for Work <br />Associated with the County Road 10 Redevelopment; and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Request For Proposal included a task to "analyze the <br />capability of installing Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) to all signals along <br />County Road 10"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the task to analyze the capability of installing Emergency <br />Vehicle Preemption (EVP) to all signals along County Road 10 including the <br />signal at Quincy and County Road I has been completed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the main goals of the County Road 10 Corridor <br />Improvement Program is to increase safety along this corridor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, letters of support for this project were submitted by the Spring <br />Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department and the Mounds View Police <br />Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the estimated cost of this project is $65,750.00, of which, the <br />Quincy/County Road I traffic signal represents $8,250; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is recommended that should the City Council wish to <br />proceed with this project, the funds for the traffic signals along County Road 10 <br />are to be derived from the City's Tax Increment Financing District Number 1 <br />(accou"nt 410-4650-5220), and the funds for the traffic signal at Quincy and <br />County Road I are to be derived form the City's Street Improvement Fund <br />(account 285-4470-7050); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, should this project proceed, it is recommended that the 2005 <br />Budget be amended to reflect these expenditures. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following is a list of recommended actions, should the City <br />Council wish to proceed with this project: accept the Memorandum Report, waive <br />the public improvement hearing, order the project, authorize the preparations of <br />
