<br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 6512 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO DEVELOP FINAL FIRE VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS AND BIDS FOR <br />TWO FIRE ENGINES/PUMPERS FOR THE SPRING LAKE PARK-BLAINE-MOUNDS VIEW <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Spring Lake Park, Blaine and Mounds View have been served <br />by the Spring Lake Park Fire Department since 1944; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the department and the cities have been working together to develop a <br />Capital Improvement Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a joint city council meeting held July 22, 2004, resulted in a consensus to <br />move the plan forward; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the month of February all three cities held public hearings on <br />adoption of the plan and all three councils passed a resolution indicating funding for the plan <br />was to be in the form of Capital Improvement Bonds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, state law requires a 30 day reverse referendum period which has now <br />expired with no citizens of any of the three cities filing a petition for a referendum thus allowing <br />the communities to fund the program with Capital Improvement Bonds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the three components of the project was the purchase of two <br />engines to replace Engine 1 housed at Station One and Engine 2, housed at Station Two; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a committee was formed and chaired by Deputy Chief Don Krueger and <br />comprised of the Senior Captains at both stations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the committee hereby recommends the need for the replacement engines <br /> <br />now. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Mounds View supports the City of <br />Blaine Council in developing final specifications and issuing for bids for two fire <br />engines/pumpers not to exceed $450,000 each in total price, including specified loose <br />equipment. <br /> <br />A TrEST: <br /> <br />/; <br />Adopted.this 9th da of Ma~, 2005: <br />J,/ / -- <br />/l'02/"['~ , .,.-' <br />ROb/~arty, May~. / <br /> <br />/0/2 D L <br /> <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />( seal) <br />
