<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6534 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />SUPPORTING THE CONSOLIDATION OF 911 DISPATCH SERVICES IN RAMSEY <br />COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On June 22, 2004, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners <br />authorized the County Manager to proceed with the design and construction of a <br />Countywide subsystem backbone to the Metropolitan Radio Board's Public Safety <br />Communication System (PSCS)/800 MHz Interoperable Communication System; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On June 22, 2004, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners <br />authorized the County Manager to develop a preliminary design of a Ramsey County <br />PSCS/800 MHz PSAP/Dispatch Center that would be sized to allow for potential future <br />countywide dispatching; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 22, 2004, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners <br />authorized the County Manager to begin negotiations with all of the municipalities in <br />Ramsey County regarding dispatching services throughout the County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has taken a position <br />in support of exploring consolidation of dispatching services because Commissioners <br />believe that it provides several advantages to all of the jurisdictions in the County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On April 26, 2005, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners <br />approved a financing option that over an eight-year period clocks down contributions for <br />operating costs by those cities operating PSAP/Dispatch Centers that choose to join the <br />consolidated Dispatch Center on the following schedule. This schedule assumes a <br />start-up date of January 1, 2006.
