<br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6601 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE EMERGENCY <br />VEHICLE PREEMPTION (EVP) INSTALLATION PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 25, 2005, the City Council approved Resolution No. <br />6502 accepting the Memorandum Report from BRAA, waiving the public <br />improvement hearing, ordering the project, authorizing the preparations of plans <br />and specifications, authorizing the solicitation of quotes, and authorizing the <br />initiation of discussions with Ramsey County to update agreements for the <br />Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) Installation Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 25, 2005, the City Council approved Resolution No. <br />6586 approving plans and specifications for the Emergency Vehicle Preemption <br />(EVP) Installation Project and authorized the solicitation of quotes for said <br />project: and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 22, 2005, Staff presented a report and resolution <br />to award a contract for the Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) Installation <br />Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the quotes were greater than $50,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council rejected the quotes and authorized Staff to <br />advertise for bids at the next possible opportunity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids for the Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) Installation <br />Project were received at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20,2005 at City Hall; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, six (6) bids were received, of which the low bid received was <br />from Eagan Companies Incorporated of Brooklyn Park Minnesota in the amount <br />of $59,500.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 16, 2005, Ramsey County submitted two <br />maintenance agreements; Agreement No. PW 2005-10 for the signal and EVP <br />system at County Road I and Quincy Street, and Agreement No. PW 2005-11, <br />for the EVP systems along County Road 10; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed these draft agreements and found them to <br />be acceptable, subject to the City's legal counsel review and approval. <br /> <br />. <br />
