<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5018 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 6 - 12, 1996 AS <br />CITIES WEEK IN MINNESOTA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The daily accomplishments of cities, their officials and volunteers provide the <br />cornerstone for creating, supporting, and building the well-being of our communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Most Minnesotans now live in cities, and it is there that the democratic process <br />is most closely seen and understood; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Decisions made by Congress and the Minnesota State Legislature impact our <br />municipal governments and the quality of life in our cities and neighborhoods; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Constructive discussion of the impact of these national and state issues will <br />educate both political candidates and citizens and may lead to a sense of common <br />community purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Cities Week 1996 theme Making Cities Count - Preserving Our Quality <br />of Life offers an important opportunity to educate citizens about the important work that <br />cities do and to discuss the impact of national and state decisions on cities' quality of life; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, Jerry Linke, Mayor of the City of Mounds <br />View do hereby proclaim October 6 -12, 1996 to be <br /> <br />CITIES WEEK <br /> <br />in Minnesota. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~~ <br />/ . <br />/ (tffLJoi; <br />Clerk-Administrator uck Whiting <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />
