CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br /> - PROCLAMATION - <br /> ABIDING SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH <br /> DAY <br /> May 16, 2014 <br /> WHEREAS, Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is located at 8211 Red Oak Drive in the City of Mounds <br /> View; and, <br /> WHEREAS, this year, Abiding Savior is celebrating its 75th Anniversary of the establishment of its <br /> congregation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, in 1939, the congregation, then known as the Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church, began <br /> holding services in the home of one the Township's residents; and, <br /> WHEREAS, in 1940, the congregation constructed a permanent church facility at the northeast corner of <br /> Hillview Drive and Red Oak Drive; and, <br /> WHEREAS, 1 n 1973, having outgrown its space, the Church constructed and moved into its present <br /> facilities at the corner of Red Oak Drive and Ardan Avenue; and, <br /> WHEREAS, today, Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is a vibrant and active part of the community, <br /> serving about 2,000 members in Mounds View and the surrounding region. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, it is with great pleasure and honor that I, Joe Flaherty, Mayor of the City of <br /> Mounds View, in recognition of Abiding Savior's 75 years of community ministry, do hereby proclaim May 16, <br /> 2014, to be: <br /> "ABIDING SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH DAY" <br /> In the City of Mounds View. <br /> Given under my hand and Seal of the City of Mounds View, this 12th day of May, 2014. <br /> e Flaherty, Ma)' <br /> (Seal) <br />
