<br />RESOLUTION 6025 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIE\V <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW SPEED DETECTION <br />RADAR UNIT AS A REPLACEMENT TO AN EXISTING UNIT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Depm1ment is currently utilizing a "MPH BEE <br />36" dual antenna speed detection radar unit, which has been in service since 1988; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the MPH BEE 36 has recently been in more frequent need of service and <br />repair; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, $1700.00 was budgeted in 2003 for the replacement of one radar unit, this <br />amount being based on a quote for a basic feature, single antenna model; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after obtaining research and recommendations from other law enforcement <br />agencies, the "Stalker DSR" dual antenna model comes highly recommended; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the state bid price of52576.00 + tax of$167.00 (total of$2743) for the <br />Stalker DSR was the lowest price obtained, and the bid expires on June 30, 2003; and, <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, the amount of$5,500 was budgeted in the police forfeiture fund in 2003 for <br />unspecified equipment or matching amounts for grants; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the additional necessary funds up to $1100.00, will be made up from <br />monies available from the police forfeiture fund. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby authorize staff to purchase one "Stalker DSR" speed detection radar unit utilizing S I 700.00 <br />from the police equipment budget and up to $1100.00, from the police forfeiture fund. <br /> <br />Adopted this 9th day of June, 2003. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />,,-) O,j\~~ ~~ e'4..,\6}l--~ <br />James Ericson, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br />ATTEST <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />. <br />
