<br />RESOLUTION NO. 6093 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPOINTING BRUCE MEEHAN TO A VACANT POSITION IN THE STREETS <br />DIVISION OF PUBLIC WORKS AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR <br />THE PUBLIC WORKS MECHANIC POSITION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 13, 2003 Gary Kardell, in the Streets <br />Division of the Public Works Department, submitted a letter of resignation <br />effective as of October 31 , 2003; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On August 25, 2003 the City Council approved <br />Resolution No. 6079 granting authorization to advertise for the Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker Position in the Streets Division; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Labor Agreement between the City of Mounds <br />View and the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit requires that job vacancies <br />shall be filled based on the concept of promotion from within provided that <br />applicants have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job <br />vacancy and the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job <br />. vacancy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said vacancy was published internally and an <br />application was submitted for the position by Bruce Meehan, who currently works <br />as the Public Works Mechanic; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, both the Public Works Director and Foreman have <br />reviewed Mr. Meehan's qualifications and recommend appointing him to the <br />Streets Division position that will be vacant on November 1, 2003. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View <br />City Council does appoint Bruce Meehan to the vacant position in the Streets <br />Division of Public Works effective as of November 1, 2003; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT there <br />will be no compensation adjustments as Mr. Meehan is currently at the top pay <br />scale for a Public Works Maintenance Worker as per the Labor Agreement with <br />the Pubic Works Collective Bargaining Unit; and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, THAT the <br />Mounds View City Council does hereby grant authorization to advertise for the <br />Public Works Mechanic Position left vacant by Mr. Meehan's appointment to the <br />Streets Division. <br />
