Call to Order <br />Roll C.all <br />MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS Of TNE <br />PARK AND RECREATION COh1MISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Special Meeting <br />September 11, 7975 <br />City Hall <br />The Mounds View Park & Recreation Commission met in <br />special session and was called to order by Chairman Peterson <br />at 6:55 p.m. <br />Vice Chairman Wayne B�rmeisi��, Co�nniss?oners Barb Haake, <br />Jacque Coplin, Wayne Weflin, Gordon Fedor. Also Council- <br />man Baumgartner and Doug Bryant and Marcia deLaBruere. <br />Councilman's <br />Report Cauncilman Roger Baumgartner reported that he attended <br />a Ramsey County Open Space meeting which was organized <br />to establish a County trails system for hiking, biking, <br />snowmobi�ing, and ski toi.ring. He stated that this <br />system would be uniform ared compatible with each <br />adjoining comnunity. <br />Baumgartner also added that the Mounds View Snowmobile <br />Club was involved in the sub-committee for establishing <br />a uniform ordinance for the trails system. He then <br />suggested that signs be posted where �torized vehicles <br />are prohibited. The Director acknowledged that signs <br />had been ordered. <br />Comnissionar Haake pointed out that there is much abuse <br />by snowmobiles in the City and especially at Spring Lake. <br />She stated that is is very dangerous for the children <br />who play on tFe ice. If the snowmobiles want to use the <br />lake, then areas should be specifically designated. <br />Baumgartner requested that the Director take the matter <br />of the sign posting and snowmobile ordinance before <br />the Mounds View Snowmobile Club for help and suggestions. <br />The Director acknowled9ed. <br />Soccer• Fields V � C-,erhQYt attended the Commission meeting <br />�r tie purpose of requesting summer soccer fields that <br />are regulation. He stated that 150 children did not <br />play soccer because there were not enough fields. <br />Spring and fall are not as big of a probiem. A discussion <br />ensued. <br />
