MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PnRKS ANC RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MLNNESOTA <br />Regu!ar Session <br />Ne��=_mber 13y 1975 <br />Gity HatL <br />Call to Order The Mounds View Parks & Recreation Comr,:ission met in regular <br />session and c:=as called to order by Chairman Peterson a[ <br />6:45 P.M. <br />Roll Ca11 Chairman Vern Peterson� Co�issioaers Wayne Burmeister� <br />Wayne Weflen� Gordon Fedor and Kip Lundquiet. Also present <br />were Doug Bryant� Director; Marcia de La Bruere� Program <br />Supervisor; and Jack Kirk, Senior Interr. from the University <br />of Minnesota. <br />Approval of Motion by Chairman Peterson snd Seconded by Cotmnission2n <br />Minutes Lundquist to approve the minutes of the Septembes 25� 1975 <br />meeting. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Chairman`s Chairman Petex'son opened the meeting with a discussion of <br />Report Greenfield Park. Ae co�nented that, if possih?e� the Parks <br />and Recreation Department should try to open the rink at <br />Greenfield Park. <br />The Director pointed out that the park needed power and <br />water. He added that in the previous year's skating season <br />Greenfield was the Loweat a�tended rink and that Hillview <br />and Oakwood were only a shor*_ distance away. However� it <br />was nor_ed that every effo�rt c.�ould be made to get the rink <br />operable. <br />Next� Chairman Peterson co�uented ou the successful Halloween <br />Party held cn Oc[ober `L5. He co�mnented that the staff had <br />worked long hours setting up the "house�� and that the child- <br />ren ha�i responded very favorably. The Director of Parks and <br />Recreation also pointed out that MY. Peterson had also <br />donated a great deal of time and that this was a;oreciated. <br />,7odi Chairman PetersQn invited Jody--the Pinewood Building <br />Bromland Coordinator--to a[tend [i�e Comnission Meeting. Mrs. Bromland <br />spoke to Co�nissioners for the pisr.p�•�e of recruiting resi- <br />dents w'ho Lived ncar Finewood t� : a member of the newly <br />°inewood-Neighborhood Cormnunity Education Advisory Council. <br />She ex�lained that the development of thts council was paxt <br />of her rois as the building Coordinator. She added that the <br />"Council" woa:d supplement the Crnmnunity Education and Parks <br />and Recaeation Department activities with neighborhood activi- <br />ties� special needs, and programs. A diacussion ensued. <br />
