MINt)TES OF TFIE PROCEED2NG5 OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATYON COAIMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINN�SOTA <br />Regular Session <br />December 30, 1976 <br />City Hall <br />Call To Order The Movnds View Parks and Recreation Coimnission met <br />in regular session, and was called to order by Chair- <br />man Vern Peterson at 6:40 PM. <br />Roll Call Chairman Vern Peterson, Cozmnissioners Wayne Burmeister, <br />Gordon Fedor, Kip Lundquist and Wayne Weflen. Also <br />present were Mary Kvalheim, Program Supervisor; and <br />Doug Bryant, Director. Special guest was Steve <br />Burmeister from Boy Scouts of America, Mounds View <br />Troop #167. <br />Appmval of Minutes l�btion by Co�issioner Lundquist and seconded by <br />Chairman Peterson to approve the mi.nutes of October <br />28, 1976, as read. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Chairman's Report Chairman vern Peterson opened the meeting with a dis- <br />cussion of the pleasure skating rink at Edgewood <br />Jimios High. He reported that the rink is being used <br />rara .*,eavnly aa3 that he received requests from resi- <br />dents living nearby to provide a warming house with <br />lights for evening skating. <br />The Director suggested that the rink area also be <br />regraded. A discussion ensued. <br />Motion by Coamiissioner Fedor and seconded by Chairman <br />Peterson to provide a warming house, liqhts and <br />regrading of the skating rink at Edgewood Junior <br />High. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Additional suggestions were: To reduce the size of <br />the Oakwood skating rink and enlarge the Edgewood <br />rink. <br />Arden Park Plan The Director of Parks and Recreation reported that <br />John Turrittin, landscape architect, was ill and <br />would not be able to attend this meeting. He would <br />make his presentation in February. Also, a letter <br />regarding this meeting would be sent to residenta <br />neighboring Ardan Park. <br />Silver View/ M.otion by Chairman Peteraoa and seconded by Co�mnis- <br />Grant Application sioner Lundquist to approve the submittal of the <br />LAWCON/LCMR final grant application requesting <br />matching funds of $75,000 fmm the State of Minneaota. <br />The vation passed unanimously. <br />
