Call To Order <br />MIYGTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PAFRS�AND RECREATION COMMISSION .. <br />CITY OP MOUNDS VIEW � � <br />COUN'CI' OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNF.SOTA <br />Regular Session <br />Sep[ember 22, 1977 <br />City Hall <br />The Plounds View Parks & Recreation Commission met in <br />regular session and was called to order by Commission <br />member Burmeister at 8:00 p.m. <br />RO11 Caii - atier.danc^ �aere Ac H ne Chairman Wayne Burmeister, <br />Commissioners Jacque Coplin,Cordon Fedor and Wayne <br />Weflen. Also present were Gordon 7,iebarth, Councilman; <br />Donald Hodges, Councilman; Mr. Wilhaus, ci[y resident; <br />and Afary Kvalheim, Acting Director and Program Supervisor. <br />Approval of Minutes were m[ in exis[ence from [he las[ July <br />Minutes coromission meeting. <br />Councilman's � Councilman Ziebar[h reported that the group interview <br />Repor[ for Director of Parks, Recreation and Fores[ry was held <br />Tuesday, September 20, from which the 7 candidates have <br />been narrowed to 2 or 3. The selection commit[ee will <br />then appoint a Director wi[hin a couple of weeks. <br />Acting Chairman Burmeister called upon Mr. Wilhaus. <br />Mr. Wilhaus stated his concern for the existing lapae <br />[ime involvin� you[h T-Ball and Baseball which occurs <br />approximately at [he 9 year old stage of youth ball- <br />players. Mr. Wilhaus wishes consideration of a pro- <br />gressive and continuous program of baseball fot you[hs <br />ages 6 year3 and older. <br />Two pioposals were d3scussed. <br />1. The Baseball Associa[ion should accep[ all 9 <br />year old playexs. <br />2. The Recreation Department should provide a pro-. <br />gram Co include 9 year old players. � <br />I[ was decided that the Acting DirecCOr will atudy other <br />community programs and reporC to the Commisaion of possible <br />avenues from which the T-Ball program could expand. <br />Councilman Ziebarth reported the considetations which ihe <br />council had in revision of [he 5-Year Park Plan to place <br />new knock down hockey boards at Creenfield Park ra[hei <br />than Woodcrest Park as was planned in the 5-year plan to <br />occur in 1978. <br />The Commisaioners' recommendations were ro follow the plan <br />as written - to place new knock down hockey boards and <br />new li�hts at Woocicrest Park, as planned in �[he 1978�� . <br />budget and 5-Year Capital Improvements Plan. <br />
