Th1s project will be a first priority in [he Spring, eo [hat the field will be ready for play in 1978. 4. Co��mity Educa[ion Upda[e - There was a Co�unity Education Advisory Committee meeting on Thureday, November 10. Following a slide presentation on the Mounde View Community Sducation program, four task force codmitteea submitted their reports: a. Chippewa Coordinator - no report b. Capital Outlay - They adopted a list of proposed community expenditures of $13,000. Mounds View submitted one request, that being the upgrading of the Edgewood Ballfields, our requeat was denied. A complete list of the adopted items can be found in the reaource file. c. Extracurricular - This committee report was often considerable diecueeion by the co�ittee. A copy of the convoittees recommendations may be reviewed in the resource file. d. itesource Center - Because of time constrainta, this subject wae not covered and wae also tabled �mtil the December 8th meeting. A complete copy of the proposal to make New Brighton Elementary a Co�uni[y Resource Center can be found in the reaource file. 5. Forestry Grant - We submitted the Shade Tree Program grant to the Department of Agriculture as required by the State on November 14. The grant providea for $37,865 in the sanitation phase and $2,520 in the replanting phaae. The grant basically is approved "as is" and is based on actual caste in 19�7 and projections for 1978. The grant ia used to base our allotted reimbareement to the private homeocanere for the removal of diseased trees (37X in 1977). A complete copy of the grant propoeal is in the reaource file.
