Co��mity Educa[ion Upda[e - There was a Co�unity Education Advisory Committee <br />meeting on Thureday, November 10. Following a slide presentation on the Mounde <br />View Community Sducation program, four task force codmitteea submitted their <br />reports: <br />a. Chippewa Coordinator - no report <br />b. Capital Outlay - They adopted a list of proposed community expenditures of <br />$13,000. Mounds View submitted one request, that being the upgrading of <br />the Edgewood Ballfields, our requeat was denied. A complete list of the <br />adopted items can be found in the reaource file. <br />c. Extracurricular - This committee report was often considerable diecueeion <br />by the co�ittee. A copy of the convoittees recommendations may be reviewed <br />in the resource file. <br />d. itesource Center - Because of time constrainta, this subject wae not covered <br />and wae also tabled �mtil the December 8th meeting. A complete copy of the <br />proposal to make New Brighton Elementary a Co�uni[y Resource Center can <br />be found in the reaource file. <br />5. Forestry Grant - We submitted the Shade Tree Program grant to the Department of <br />Agriculture as required by the State on November 14. The grant providea for <br />$37,865 in the sanitation phase and $2,520 in the replanting phaae. The grant <br />basically is approved "as is" and is based on actual caste in 19�7 and projections <br />for 1978. The grant ia used to base our allotted reimbareement to the private <br />homeocanere for the removal of diseased trees (37X in 1977). <br />A complete copy of the grant propoeal is in the reaource file. <br />
