School Administrators, Phy-�d Teachers and Co�uni[y Educators <br />begen [he project ot develaping a master plan for Che outdaor facilities <br />at edgewood Jr. High. <br />:he fire[ phase of planning began by assesaing the exlsting facilities in <br />xela[ion to [he present and fu[ure demands on [6e eite. There preaently are <br />[wo major vsers of the Edgewood School site� [ha[ being the day school program <br />and municipal a[hletic programs. <br />A rough drawing of the e�cis[ing facili[ies can he found in Addendum A. As <br />can be noted the site presen[ly hae one base6a11 Field, 3 aoftball fielda, <br />4 tennia coucta and one fcoiball field. I[ should be noted that 6dgewood <br />Jr. High has the only tennis coutts and officia] foo[ball field loca[ed <br />within the boundariea of the City of Mounds View. <br />The present condition of the basehall and sof[bnll Fields is a[ bes[ <br />deplora6le. The tennis courts are preeently in need of resurfacing and [he <br />net posts ahould be replaced due to paor construc[ion. The foo[ball field <br />although freshly eodded.ln 1976, is also in poor condi[Lon� becauae of <br />:nisuse and poor maintenance procedurea. <br />After reviewing [he existing fac.lities it was de[ermtned [hat because of ihe <br />high demand [ha[ [he flelds 2re preeen[ly expe denctng, M�e could no[ cu[ back <br />in [M1e number of faclli[ies.
