Snow-Daze - The Snow-Daze ac[ivi[ies on January ?8 were fairly <br />succeseful for a Hre[ [ime operation. HSghlighting [he day activltlas <br />were over 200 you[h who participa[ed in [he akating races a[ 6 park <br />si[ee and a sponge hockey tournament wi[h 10 [eams and all 6 parke <br />represeneed. <br />S[aff has already begun [en[ative plans for improving nex[ yeara <br />Snow-Daze e�ren[e. <br />2. Lakeside Park - Council�mbers Rowley and Baumgartner and myself <br />me[ wlth the Spring Lake Park Cuuncil on February 9 to diecuss [iie <br />current and future e.atus of the Lakeaide Park CommleaSOn. CouncSl- <br />member Rowley presented [he C1ty of Mounds View's poeition for <br />[heiz Councils review. Spring Lake Park did no[ have an alternative <br />proposal so dlecussion ren[ered around the Mounds View posi[ion. <br />Following a leng[hy diecuseion it was decided tha[ CouncilmemAer <br />Rowlxy and myself ahould make a Eormal presentation to the entlre <br />Spring Lake Park City Council mee[ing Sn March. <br />3. Mn/DOT Biheway Grant - We were informed [hat our bikeway grant <br />applica[ion will no[ be coneidered for funding a[ his point. Staff <br />is investigating as [o why the proposal wae not considered. <br />4. C1ty Hall Remodeling - The conatruction began on Februery 15 and the <br />recrea[ioe officee are preaently raughed in. Staff plans on conducting <br />a shor[ [our on Thureday nigh[. <br />5. Bid Openings - Staff will be opening up bids for the removal ot <br />diseased [reee on Friday, Februery 24. The second bid opening will <br />be on March 1 for a front mo�m[ed flail mower. <br />6. Warming House hours ex[ended - The wlnter warming houee program wae <br />echeduled to draw to a cloae on Frlday� Fehruary 17. S[aff prepared <br />a memo e[ating that because of the school cloeings, because of energy <br />conservation veek, additional mortiee ahould be appropriated to keep <br />[he 3"major" eltea open through Februery 26. <br />The Council concurred and $600.00 vae appropriated to keep Lambert. <br />Woodcreat and Hillview open through February 26. <br />
