TRANSPORTATION � <br />83 T/10/77 � � <br />AMENDMENT: BICYCLE AND <br />PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES <br />INTHOCUCTION <br />This seetion is an amendment to the Transpona- <br />tion Poliey Plan coneaining policias to guide the <br />development of an Area•wide system of <br />bikaways and development of pedestrian <br />systema in the Metropolitan Area. The amend- <br />ment alw includea a Metropolhan Bicycle <br />System Plan (shown on the accompanying mapl <br />consisting of a natwork of bicycle corridors and <br />the state bicycle trail within the Metropolitan <br />Area. The emendment wes adopted by the <br />Council on October 13, 1977. <br />GOALS AND POLICIES <br />The following goals and policies are intended to <br />�OP�ement those already adopted as part of the <br />Trensportation Policy Plan which relate to bicy- <br />ele and pedestrian facilities. <br />Goals <br />1. Facilities are constructed <br />primarily by municipalitiea or, in some casea, by <br />oounry or state agenciea.
