Gran[s Staff ia preaen[ly in the process of preparing the S[ate Land and Water Conservation Grants for fund3ng in 1979. We will be submitting [�ao gzant applications, one for the Phase 1 develop- ment of Silver View Park, the second is for the tennis court project at Edgevood Js. High. A briei synopsis of each project including [he proposed costs are as followa: 1. Edgewood 7r. High Tennis Courts - This projec[ will be for the wnstruction of four lighted championship tennis courts. The couxts will be located at the sou[hwest corner of the school grounds, making op[3mum use of [he exis[ing parking lot. The [otal projected cost is $50,000 including final si[e prepara- tion, 2 lifts of blacktop, fencing, color coating, coin metered lighting system, nets and posts. The L.A.W.C.O.N. funding will pay For 50% of the project or $25,000 which would�be [he city's share of the project as the school distrlct has already budgeted $25,000. The second projec[ that Ss being su6mi[[ed is for Phase 1 of the Silver View Park Develop�n[. The developmen[ of Silver View has been proposed to be completed in [hree phases: ' � Phase 1- This phase will include all preliminary grading, parking lot constructian and trail developmen[. Pheae 2- This phase will consist mainly of ehe construction ot the �aajor recreaLion facilitiea including tennis cour[s, baseball fields, hockey rinke, turf es[ablishment and park signage. phase 3- This phase is for the construction of a Community Center Build:ng. A more detailed breakdown of the Phase 1 Development is as follows: � Surveying: $ 3,000 Grading and Excavatian: 24,000 Patking Lots Construc[ion: 40�000 Trail Developmen[: 20,000 TOTAL $87,000 1fie Ci[y's matc77ing share of the grartt would be 25X or $21,750.
