Employees - Our department currently has 12 swmner C.E.T.A, employees <br />working for us in the following areas: <br />Park maintenance - 8 <br />Puppet Wagon - 1 <br />Clerical - 2 <br />Swimning Pool - 1 <br />They began work June 78, 1979 and work 40 hours/week through the first week Tn <br />September. The p�y rate is $2.90/hour which amounts to over $16,000.00 in <br />youth labor. We will be in "C9re" straights if that program should ever fold. <br />7. Lakeside Park - The park activities have been greatly expanded in 7979 to <br />inc u�special events every Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. (see enctosed <br />ftyer for specific events and times). <br />8. Swiirening Program - Enclosed is a flyer outlining the extensive swimning pool <br />program we are currently offering at Edgewood Jr. High. Because of the closing <br />of the Irondale High School pool we experienced a large increase in our program <br />as compared to prior years. <br />9. Park Director Plans to Recreate - I have scheduled a week of vacation for the <br />first week in July so I wi not be back into the office ua2i1 July 9. If <br />you have any questions in regards to park development contact Mr. Frank Kampel <br />or for program questions ask Mary Kvalheim. <br />10. Parks and Recreation Week - Enclosed is Resolution N993 regarding the designa- <br />tion o une 24 - July 1 as Minnesota Recreation and Parks week. This resolution <br />was adopted by the Nbunds View City Council at the June 25, 1979 Council meeting. <br />Staff recomnendation for each af the Comnissioners is that tney "6ET INTO A <br />LEISURE AFFAIR" to celebrate the occasion. <br />
