MEMO T0: Mound V a Recreation Comniss9oners <br />FROM: Staff <br />DATE: June 26, 1979 <br />RE: Puppet Wagon Program <br />The Mounds View merry minstrelwagon began its weekly schedule of shows on <br />Tuesday, dune 26, 1979. As you are aware, the initial price of the wagon <br />was $600 and we bave expendeC the following additional monies: <br />P.A. System (Includes 2 speaker columns, 7 P.A.-20 amplifier, <br />tape recorder, 1 lapel mike, and 1 regular mike -$359.00 <br />Tie Rods - $40.00 <br />Tune Up - $20.00 <br />Paint Job - $48.G0 <br />Carpeting - $38.00 <br />Puppet Supplies - $30.00 <br />Insurance - $700.00 (estimate) <br />TOTAL COST to date - $1,235.00 <br />These monies were budgeted out of the City`s contingency account fran the <br />original b1.200 authorized by the Council. The program, including reconstruc- <br />tion of the wagon, has been coordinated by a staff of 3 individuals headed by <br />Cathy Dailner assisted by Ed Klemz and At Cardenas. <br />Cathy's salary is being paid for out of a summer CETA grant and A1 and Ed are <br />being paid out of the City's park maintenance labor account. <br />We currently have scheduled 23 shows each week. Special shows are scheduted <br />for the Festival in the Park. Each weeks production will include 2 puppet <br />performances and 1 live performance. Week X1 shows include: Little Red Riding <br />Hood and The Ginger Bread Man and live entertainment entitled, "Fun With Hats". <br />We wi71 be recommending that the personnel costs of the puppet wagon staff be <br />paid througA the General Fund in 1980.
