Each comprehensive plan must include a <br />five-year CIP for all government facilities, including parks and <br />recreation. <br />These CIP's should include the Eollowing informatioa: <br />- Deseription of capital impmvement; <br />- Estimated time the funds will be needed for the impmve- <br />ment; <br />- Estimated annual maintenance costs foa the improvement; <br />- Source o£ funds to be used for the impmvement (includiag <br />tax leviea, bond prxeeds, grants from other units oF <br />governmmt, dedication from land developers, etc.) . <br />An example of a five-year CIP is included in Appendix E- The <br />Co�cil will review all local comprehensive plans for thts <br />informatioa and n*ill subsequently review and rank <br />local park grant applications for their consistency with thae �: <br />co�unity's adopted CIP. <br />4. In de- <br />veloping the CIP a commmity should recognize: <br />1. Current LAWCON and LCI+IIt granta prov4de fimds for lanQ acquieition <br />and park development projecta. No grant pragrame currently exiet <br />for funding operatione and maintenance of park facilities. Thus; <br />the co�unity should develop a park system that it can afford to ��' <br />maintaia through local taxea or othar local £unds. <br />2. Acquisition of land for future pazk sites ahould have priority over <br />soma park development projeets, eince land acquiaition coete will <br />intr4ase over time at a faeter rate than development wets. <br />3. The schedule of £unding park projects should coincide with the <br />developm�nt o£ the public facilitiea (roada, utilities, etc.) which <br />will service the park. <br />
