Mderson, Directo > k,�ation & Forestry DATE: Nove�rber 27, 1979 RE: Monthly Update The purpose of this report is to keep the Parks and Recreation Comnission informed on current issues within the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department that do not need official Commission action: 7. Winter Recreation Brochure - The winter recreation brochure will be distributed at the Comnission meeting on Thursday evening. It will be back from the printer on Wednesday, Novertber 28, 1979 and should be in the residents ho�res no later than Saturddy, December 1. As this was the City's first attempt to consolidate the City newsletter and brochure staff will be curious as to your reaction to the new format. A brief listing of the new program offerings inctude: a. Cross Country Ski lessons b. Merry Christmas Party c. Girls after-school basketball d. Kid-Napers e. Evening Bridge 2. Studeit intern - As I have alreaqy mentioned, Mr. Jeff Stottlemeyer will b.; interning with our deparmtent beginning December 3 and drawing to a close in Mid-March. 3. Tree planting at Lakeside Park - Under the direction of Jack Shields the City planted approximately 20 trees during the past 2 weeks that were donated to the Lakeside Park Gommssion. They are a welcome add+tian to the park. 4. Mrs. J.C.'s donation - The Mrs. J.C.'s have agreed to purchase the on� bench as the CommissSon outlined at the October 23 meetSng. 5. N.R.v.A. Congress - I am Sn the process of completing a written report on N.R.P.A. Congress, suffSce it to say that ft was an excellent educational as well as a recreational excursion for all involved.
