Call to Order <br />MINUTES OF THE FROCEEDINGS OF TNE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VI[W <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA " � <br />r����. <br />Regular Session <br />May 1, 1980 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />Council Chambers <br />6:30 p.m. <br />The Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission was called <br />to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. <br />� <br />Roll Call Comnissioners present - Chairperson Burmeister, Commissioners <br />l.inke, Bowman, Kutuvar, Weflen, Scott, Dennehy, and Silvis. <br />Commissioners absent - Commissioner Fedor <br />Councilmembers present- Councilmember Ziebarth <br />Staff present - Parks and Recreation Director <br />Anderson <br />Visitors present - Resident Jerry Fahrmann <br />Minutes Commissioner Kuluvar made a motion to approve April 24, 1980 <br />minutes as submitted, Commissioner Linke seconded the motion. <br />Motion passed. <br />8 ayes <br />0 nayes <br />Visitor Jerry Fahrmann, 7448 Spring Lake Road N.E. requested to <br />Pres4ntation speak before the Comnission regarding the proposed plans <br />for Silver View Park. Specific concerns raised by <br />Mr. Fahrmann were as follows: <br />1. Requested a buffer zone of either earthen mounds or <br />landscaping between the residential and park areas. <br />2. Designing islands or nesting areas for existing <br />and future waterfowl. <br />3. Develop Cross Country ski trails. <br />4. Retain as many natural amenities on the site as <br />possible in the design and planning phase. <br />5. Mr. Fahrmann also questioned the Comnission rationale <br />for the proposed park land swap. <br />The Comnission responded that they were in general agreement <br />with Mr. Fahrmanns concerns and they also explained the history <br />relating to the Park swap. <br />Chairperson 8urireister thanked Mr. Fahrmann for attending and <br />directed staff to keep hi�n apprised of our progress on the <br />issue. <br />
