4 MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY • STATE OF MINNESOTA May 23 , 1985 Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers 6 : 30 p.m. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairper- son Burmeister at 7 : 10 p.m. ROLL CALL Commissioners present : Commissioners Wetlen , Bowman , Linnell , Long , Letendre , Silvis , and Chairperson Burmeister . Councilmembers present : Councilmember Quick Staff present : Parks & Recreation Director Anderson . APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was by Commissioner Bowman , seconded by Commissioner Weflen to approve the April 25, 1985 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously: 7 ayes, 0 nayes. EVIEW OF LAWCON AND1. Staff conducted a brief tour commencing at CMR GRANTS FOR RED 6: 30 p.m. to review the grants that were sub- OAK SCHOOL SITE AND mitted for the development of a soccer field SILVER VIEW PARK complex at the Red Oak School Site property and Phase II development of Silver View Park . Staff reviewed correspondence from the School District outlining the School District' s interest in providing a long term lease to the City for the development of an athletic complex should the grant be approved . Dis- cussion at the Red Oak School Site centered around the parking lot area and it was stated by the Commissioners; that the existing bitu- minous parking lot should remain with the proposed parking utilized as a neighborhood baseball/softball field . Staff concurred with this design change and a general concen- sus of the grant proposal for Red Oak was agreed upon . The Commission then reviewed the Phase II development at Silver View Park which propos- es construction of four tennis courts, bitu- minous parking lot, bollards , completion of the trail , and bridge construction. 4110
