-2- <br /> GREENFIELD PARK UPDATE Staff reviewed the letter from Barton-Aschman <br /> requesting additional monies for services <br /> 1111 beyond the scope of the initial contract. <br /> Staff provided additional background outlin- <br /> ing the additional meetings that became <br /> necessary with the Rice Creek Watershed Dis- <br /> trict. Following a general discussion, it <br /> was the concensus of the Park Commission that <br /> the items, as outlined, were within the broad <br /> scope of the initial proposal and that the <br /> recommendation should be denied. A motion <br /> was made by Commissioner Linnell , seconded by <br /> Commissioner Weflen to direct staff to for- <br /> ward a letter to Barton-Aschman indicating <br /> that their request for additional monies <br /> would not be granted. Motion passed unani- <br /> mously. 5 ayes, 0 nayes. <br /> SUMMER RECREATION Staff indicated that we had a positive sum- <br /> PROGRAM UPDATE mer, and that recreation programs had gone as <br /> scheduled. Staff further stated that our <br /> fall softball leagues had filled up for the <br /> most part during the first day of registra- <br /> tion. Staff also indicated that the fall <br /> recreation brochure would be available for <br /> Commission review at the August 22, 1985 <br /> meeting. <br /> VIEW CHAPTER 52 .03 Staff stated that the City Council had <br /> KINKING IN THE PARK scheduled their first hearing on Chapter <br /> 52. 03 , and the ordinance as initially pre- <br /> sented was adopted 5-0 . During the second <br /> and subsequent reviews by the City Council , <br /> the item received much attention from the <br /> media as well as from City Councilmembers and <br /> residents, and the ordinance was turned over <br /> to the City Attorney for further review and <br /> rewriting. Staff indicated that this issue <br /> would probably come before the Council at one <br /> of the future Council agenda sessions. <br /> GROVELAND PARK PLAY- Staff indicated that the equipment had been <br /> GROUND EQUIPMENT UPDATE ordered from GameTime in the total amount of <br /> $15,000, with $7, 500 coming from the Grove- <br /> land Park Foundation and $5,000 from the <br /> Neighborhood Park Planning Fund and $2, 500 <br /> from the MSA Bond Fund. Staff indicated that <br /> all the equipment should be delivered in ear- <br /> ly August with completion slated for the <br /> first week in September. <br /> LONG TERM FINANCIAL Staff indicated this item would be placed on <br /> LAN the August 22 agenda, as final copies had not <br /> been presented to the Park Commission . <br />
