Staff stated <br /> that the one major problem with request- <br /> ing a grant for Spring Lake would be <br /> boat a state approved bo t launch would <br /> have to be constructed before any grant <br /> for aeration equipment would be con- <br /> sidered . Staff further indicated that <br /> it was hoped that both Anoka and Ramsey <br /> County, as well as Spring Lake Park and <br /> Fridley would contribute to this pro- <br /> ject, as it would directly benefit each <br /> of them. Staff indicated that a formal <br /> report would be presented to the City <br /> Council on October 7 and that an update <br /> would be presented at the October 24 <br /> Commission meeting. <br /> DISCUSSION ON <br /> PROPOSED TASK FORCE Staff distributed a memo on the proposed <br /> task force project with a list of nine <br /> people who have indicated interest in <br /> serving on a task force for park funding <br /> alternatives. The Commission reviewed <br /> the list of people and indicated their <br /> 1111 support. The Commission further stated <br /> that the original task force guidelines <br /> for funding alternatives was still real- <br /> istic and directed staff to proceed with <br /> the project. Staff indicated that a <br /> meeting would be held before the next <br /> Park Commission meeting. Commissioner <br /> Silvis indicated that he would be inter- <br /> ested in serving as the liaison from the <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission, and <br /> staff indicated that each of the Commis- <br /> sioners were welcome to attend. Staff <br /> further stated that regular mailings <br /> would occur throughout the process. <br /> PARK TOUR Staff conducted a brief tour of Green- <br /> field Park and updated each of the <br /> Commissioners on our progress to date . <br /> It was stated at Greenfield Park that <br /> the major projects yet to be completed <br /> were seeding , which would be done dor- <br /> mantly due to the frost, and additional <br /> landscape work around the trail and <br /> parking lot areas. Staff also stated <br /> that some additional landscaping would <br /> be completed at the site within the next <br /> three weeks. The Commission then toured <br /> the Groveland Park tot lot which was <br /> recently installed by the City Hall <br /> staff. <br />
